Interview with ARA: “An intellectual woman must be prepared.”

During her trip to Spain in April, 2017, Siri Hustvedt was interviewed by Jordi Nopca from the Catalonian newspaper ARA to talk about her book A Woman Looking at Men Looking at Women: Essays on Art, Sex, and the Mind.

JN: "Explain that an intellectual man is perceived differently than an intellectual woman."

SH: "Is it like that. The men were not punished for having great convictions. Nor if they are able to produce a flawless speech and know many things. An intellectual woman must be prepared."
