Siri Hustvedt joins dozens of celebrated writers, poets, and artists who have called for the lifting of all restrictions on Chinese poet and artist Liu Xia, held under illegal house arrest without charge since October 2010.
Siri gives an individual reading of Liu Xia's poem "June 2, 1989" as well as part of a collective reading: her co-readers are novelist Khaled Hosseini, poet Rita Dove, and author Philip Gourevitch (above).
